Special Announcements

Attention Juniors:  Interested in making a float for the Homecoming parade?  Take this opportunity to talk with Mrs. Archuleta in room M2314 today or tomorrow during 8th period or after school.  Make this Homecoming and school year special by joining Junior Leadership today.


Your picture package is here you can pick it up in the Main Office.  You must have them with you if you are planning on having retake pictures on September 28.


Horizon High School needs a Hawk!!   See Ms. Baldwin if you are interested in being the mascot at home football games and other special events.  First home game is this Friday.  Go Hawks!! 


Come on senior and junior boys.  Sign up now in the main office for our 4th annual powder puff volleyball game, $25 per player. Space is limited to 12 members per team and will go fast, so sign up immediately.   Event is October 3rd at 6:30, Horizon main gym.


Counseling News

 STUDENTS:  What do you envision yourself doing when you grow up? Working with wild animals?  Helping discover the cure for cancer? Developing the next line of game software?  The EXPERIENCE 9-5 job shadow program can help you explore all of these, plus 60 other career possibilities! Talk to your counselor today about registering before spaces fill up!


SENIORS:  Remember that, if you are considering re-taking your ACT exam before submitting your college applications, NOW IS THE TIME TO GO REGISTER FOR THE OCTOBER 27th EXAM!   Don't procrastinate -- go to the  website and get 'r done!


Horizon students are also invited to attend complimentary Fall ACT Prep & Review Sessions hosted free of charge at DeVry University, conveniently located near-by in Westminster on 122nd Avenue.  Saturday sessions will be held from 8:00 until 5:00 on October 20 and December 1.  Lunch is provided, so don't miss these FREE opportunities to improve your scores!  Space is limited to 30 students and they fill quickly, so see your counselor today for registration information!


STUDENTS: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to design a home? Would you like to experience a ride-along with a police officer? Are you interested in exploring the world of forensics? Then EXPERIENCE 9-5 is for you! Talk to your counselor about how to register for this exciting job shadowing experience. Act now, since spaces fill up first-come-first-served!

German National Honor Society meeting today in room N2404 at 3:00.


National Art Honor Society meeting in G0709 on Thursday September 20th at 3:10.  All interested students are invited to attend


Interested in attending the Colorado High School Theatre Conference, Feildtrip forms are due October 1st, pick yours up in the theatre office. Workshops by Hollywood and Broadway guest artists competitive events and main stage plays to view, three days in the heart of the Denver performing arts district


The Nationally acclaimed and award-winning Northglenn Youth Theatre is proud to announce that four Horizon High School students have been cast in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.   Isaac Sprague will play Joseph;  Skyler Hockett will play Levi; Grace Sprague will be the Narrator and Heidi Cole will perform in the Spirit Chorus.   The show will run from November 9-18 at the D.L. Parsons Theatre in the Northglenn Recreation Center. There are two performances for school groups on Wednesday, November 15 & Thursday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. if any teachers are interested in taking a class to the performance.
